1. About Markup Markets
Markup Markets is a business and marketing simulation designed primarily for educational and learning purposes.

- Students
- Educators
- Universities and schools
- Clubs and organizations
- Individuals interested in business and strategy
Unless otherwise stated, Markup Markets is provided free of charge.
2. Educational Purpose
Markup Markets is an educational simulation.
The financial results, market conditions, company valuations, customer behavior, reports, forecasts, and other outcomes generated by the simulation are fictional and simplified representations of business concepts.
Markup Markets does not provide:
- Financial advice
- Investment advice
- Legal advice
- Accounting advice
- Professional business consulting
- Predictions of real-world market performance
Decisions that perform well within Markup Markets should not be assumed to produce the same results in the real world.
Users should not rely on the simulation when making real financial, investment, legal, or commercial decisions.
3. Eligibility
You may use Markup Markets only if your use is permitted under the laws applicable to you.
Because Markup Markets may be used in educational environments, some users may be minors.
Where parental, guardian, school, or institutional consent is required under applicable law, the responsible person or institution should obtain the necessary authorization before the user accesses the Service or provides personal information.
Educators and institutions are responsible for determining whether Markup Markets is appropriate for their students and educational environment.
4. User Accounts

- Access another person’s account without permission
- Attempt to obtain another user’s password or authentication information
- Impersonate another person or organization
- Create accounts for abusive, fraudulent, or malicious purposes
You are responsible for activity performed through your account unless the activity resulted from circumstances reasonably outside your control.
5. Multiplayer Games and Lobbies

Although reasonable efforts may be made to preserve this information, we do not guarantee that game data will always be permanently available.
Data may occasionally be lost or reset because of technical failures, maintenance, testing, software updates, database changes, or other operational reasons.
Users should not rely on Markup Markets as the sole permanent storage location for important educational records.
10. Simulation Results
Simulation outcomes are produced using the rules, formulas, assumptions, algorithms, and market models implemented by Markup Markets.
These models intentionally simplify real-world business conditions.
Results may be influenced by factors including:
- Player decisions
- Competitor decisions
- Simulated customer preferences
- Market conditions
- Randomized elements
- Artificial intelligence competitors
- Simulation formulas
A particular strategy succeeding or failing within Markup Markets does not establish that the same strategy would succeed or fail in a real business.
11. Artificial Intelligence Competitors
Some Markup Markets games may contain computer-controlled or artificial-intelligence competitors.
These competitors are part of the simulation and may make automated decisions according to programmed strategies.
AI-controlled companies do not represent real companies, individuals, financial advisers, or business professionals.
